So I’ve been working on an idea for a webcomic, and I thought I finally had something that’d be cool and interesting…. only to find out that someone else is already well on the way with a similar idea.
Don’t you hate when that happens? I mean, I never heard of this dude’s comic… (and it’s a really cool comic) before, but just before I start getting serious about my idea, I find out it’s been done. Dayum.
I guess it’s impossible to avoid since there are really no original ideas out there anymore. Everything has been done. What makes them original are just little twists that make them just shy of plagerism, which makes them wonderfully original works of art.
Ideas. Ugh.
So it’s back to the drawing board.
And now some thoughts about Haiti. I’ve already donated money. I don’t make a lot, and I need everything I do have, but they need it more. Obviously.
I’ve seen many other black people say something like this, so it doesn’t make me feel weird saying it: but I’m really tired of seeing desperate and destitute masses of black people on TV. I mean, let’s get it straight: obviously the Haitians can’t help it: it’s not like they asked for the earthquake to happen… despite what assholes like Pat Robertson have to say about it.
